Highlights
We will begin by visiting the Palatine Gallery , a museum housed in the Pitti Palace in Florence which, together with the Boboli Gardens, is part of the Uffizi Galleries, and then move on to the Royal Apartments (temporarily closed).
Housed within the architectural complex, the Palatine Gallery is located on the main floor, divided into 28 rooms and hosts a famous exhibition: the "picture gallery" of the Grand Dukes of Tuscany, a unique exhibition of its kind as it respects the taste of past centuries, with the paintings arranged in multiple rows, selected according to decorative criteria, and not by period or school.
You will be able to admire the famous private collection of the Medici family in their last residence, which includes important masterpieces by Botticelli, Titian, Rubens, Caravaggio and many other Italian and European painters from the 15th to the 17th century.
You will discover the history of the Palace and its inhabitants from the Medici Family, to the Lorena to the King of Italy, as Florence was the residence of the King when it became the Capital of Italy, for 5 years, from 1865 to 1870.
